Hypnotherapy, also referred to as guided hypnosis, is a form of psychotherapy that uses relaxation, extreme concentration, and intense attention to achieve a heightened state of consciousness or mindfulness. While under hypnosis people are much more open to helpful suggestions than they usually are and their conscious mind doesn’t interfere with another part of the mind-subconscious.
It is a very natural phenomenon, which we experience every single day without knowing about it.
For example:
- You can read a book or watch a movie and be so absorbed by the character or by the story that you have an emotional reaction to that as if it were real.
- Sometimes you are so engaged in a daydream thinking about
something very important to you that you don’t realize how time is passing by and hours passed felt like minutes.
